It’s said that the furious ex-wife had the tiny house built in her front yard out to spite for her ex-husband – and the judge. However, this urban legend proved overtime to be just that, a legend.
The explanation widely held today is that it was a battle of egos over a land dispute. A man had a tiny pie-shaped corner lot up for sale. The neighbor next store made a ridiculous low-ball offer and it offended the seller so much that he built the tiny house for revenge to spite the neighbor. The neighbor eventually ended up moving.
And now it is all part of Seattle folklore and tiny house history. The 830 sq. ft. house recently sold after being on the market for only a few weeks. The asking price of the house was $397,500! Zoinks Scooby, mystery solved.
