“Pint Size” Tiny House Is An Irish Pub!

This idyllic tiny house has been transformed into a traditional Irish pub on wheels!  The Shebeen, as it’s known, comes complete with hard wood floors, faux-brick walls and traditional Irish charm- and best of all you can rent it for your event!

The project was the idea of John Walsh, who came up with it as a side-project for his work buddies. “It started off as a team-building exercise with my guys, but then, as we were getting clients in, everyone seemed to show great interest in it,” he told TheJournal.ie.

Walsh and a friend bought the 1980s-era trailer and re-purposed it.  “We did a bit more brainstorming with it and I suppose our love of Irish pubs made it a natural route,” he said.

“As we started work on it, we started to get a bit more serious – we realised this could turn into a business.”

The hardest part of the job was getting the details right, Walsh said.  The finished product can seat ten people with bar space for beers on draught and even a small working stove.

It took about four months of work– from initial design to the finishing touches.  It all came together for that vintage pub look, with distressed wood and faux brick.  It cost about $29k.

And despite starting out as a fun project, The Shebeen is now a serious business. The pub is rented out for weddings and several have been ordered to buyers in the US.  Want one of your own?  It will cost you about $40k including its trip across the Atlantic.

From TheShebeen website: “By May 2014, after four months of demolition, many hours of design work, and a whole lot of love, our retired and exhausted 30-year-old caravan became a very close replica of the traditional old Irish bar. The interior woodwork is handcrafted in Irish oak, which has been stained and distressed to recreate that vintage feel. We used solid pine for the flooring and the seats, again aging the woodwork to create a vintage effect. Antique pictures, mirrors and carefully selected pub memorabilia adorn the walls, which have been papered in traditional patterned wallpaper. The Shebeen is the perfect novelty addition to any event. Make it a centre point of your wedding reception, create a buzz at your corporate conference party, park it in your back garden to celebrate your partner’s 40th, gather a group together and create your own mini-festival. Whatever the occasion, The Shebeen offers an atmosphere unlike any other, to make your event a memorable one.… a little piece of Ireland in your own back yard”
